| You've heard about it... you've wanted one.. and yet again..Pirates' Lair delivers with the K1200LT Performance Chip from RhineWest Performance, Inc. With a tested horsepower improvement of 7hp at 6000 RPM and a torque improvement of 10 Ft/Lbs at 4800 RPM, the performance software improves the drivability and overall performance of the K1200LT by manipulating the core of the engine management system, the BMW motronic unit. Software & decryption board included. Just pull the factory chip and plug this kit in. No other mods necessary. NOTE: We have heard that the chip (in some cases) might compromise your warranty, however.. the chip is undetectable by BMW testing equipment used during standard maintenance / tuning procedures. Is this a "don't ask.. don't tell" situation? The decision is all yours, my friends. If in doubt... ask your dealer. Rhine West offers 2 chips for your K1200LT. One for 1997-8/99 production dates and one for 8/99-2004. Note: Rhine West has also determined that there is a "gray" area where removing your tank and checking the computer box #'s might be necessary for proper Chip selection. As a courtesy to our customers, we also offer a T30 Torx™ , tamper-proof wrench that you'll need to get your motronic box apart. A standard Torx wrench will NOT work. We get these from RhineWest Performance, Inc and they are top quality and come with a rubber handle. We ask just enough to cover the cost and shipping. Yes.. you can find these at different places and for possibly cheaper if you have the time to look. NAPA sells them part # 775-5938. Sears also sells them. Just trying to make life easier for you... Note: Unlike the K12RS/GT Chip, the K1200LT software is exhaust specific. Please state when ordering which exhaust you have on your bike.. stock, Remus, Staintune, etc... |
