As
per Racer's Den website... "
Unlike some cheap replacement shields on the market, these are not mere
shaped plastic that are thick enough to turn into the fastest guillotine
known to humanity upon crashing your bike. These are safety specification
screens and approved for road and track use. If you wish to risk your
neck with lethal cheap and nasty screens be our guest ... but dont
be offended when we refuse to staple your head back on when your budget
screen takes your head off !"
Install: How hard is it? It's about a 15 minute/ 1 beer job
using only a small hex wrench. Just remove the (10) screws holding the
factory shield on, remove the rubber inserts and place in the new shield,
then reinstall. When I installed mine I had a little trouble lining up
the last few screws, but I think if I had gotten them all started before
tightening the install would have gone a little easier. Live and learn.
Overall... an easy job.
Bottom line..The
Racer's Den shields are well made, will protect your instruments from
destructive UV rays, and... look great. Also.. the manufacturer says if
you choose to paint the silver (or other color) on the inside as per genuine
ones , use an acrylic spray paint. |
